Terms of Service
AirNomadNetwork is operated by [Operating Company] LLC (“AirNomadNetwork”, “we”, “us”).
These terms, together with the Acceptable Use Policy (for digital nomads) and the Host Agreement (for hosts), are the agreement between you and AirNomadNetwork. If they ever conflict, the Acceptable Use Policy or Host Agreement wins on its own subject.
1. What AirNomadNetwork is
AirNomadNetwork is a marketplace. We connect nomads who want a residential internet connection with hosts who choose to share theirs. In these terms, a nomad, or digital nomad, is a member who books a host’s connection, and a host is a member who shares their home internet connection through AirNomadNetwork; one person can be both. We don’t provide internet access ourselves. Hosts provide it, through their own internet service and their own equipment, and nomads’ traffic goes directly between the nomad and the host. It never passes through our servers.
What we provide: the app where nomads find and book hosts, ID checks (through our provider, Stripe), software hosts can install to run their hosting safely, collection of payments on hosts’ behalf, and trust and safety, including handling abuse reports.
2. Hosts are independent
- Hosts decide whether, when and how much to host, and can pause or stop at any time.
- Hosts are independent. They aren’t our employees, agents or partners, and they’re responsible for their own internet service, equipment, taxes and the terms of their agreement with their internet provider.
- We don’t own, control or guarantee any host’s internet connection.
Your internet provider. Many home internet plans don’t allow sharing a connection outside the household, and some forbid it outright. By hosting, you confirm that you understand this, that you’ve had the chance to check your plan and to tell your provider, and that whether to host is your own decision. We recommend telling your provider; the host setup guide has a message you can send. If your provider warns you, limits or suspends your service, or makes a claim because you host, that’s between you and your provider, and AirNomadNetwork isn’t responsible for it (see sections 10 and 11).
3. Bookings
- When you book a host, you enter into an agreement directly with that host for access to their connection for the length of your booking, on these terms and the Acceptable Use Policy.
- A booking’s connection is for one device or one travel router at a time. People travelling with you may use it through your travel router’s Wi-Fi; don’t give your connection settings or login to anyone else.
- You’re responsible for everything done through your booking or your account, including by anyone you let use it.
- Connections depend on the host, their internet provider and the network you’re on. A host may pause or go offline, and some networks block VPN connections. When that happens, you can end the booking and book another host.
4. Payments
- During the pilot, bookings may be free. Before any booking costs money, we’ll show you the price, and the rules for refunds and early endings, before you pay.
- Hosts set their prices. Each host chooses the price of their connection, within a range we publish (currently $39 to $69 a month). We suggest a price, but the choice is the host’s. You see the host’s price before you book.
- When you pay for a booking, you pay the host through AirNomadNetwork. We act as the host’s limited agent for collecting payment: once you’ve paid us, you’ve paid the host.
- We keep a service fee (currently 30% of the booking price) and pay the rest to the host, normally monthly.
5. Your account
- You must be at least 18, and give accurate information. The pilot is invite-only.
- Where you can use it. Nomads can connect from anywhere the connection works, except places under US sanctions (currently Cuba, Iran, North Korea, Syria, and the Crimea, Donetsk and Luhansk regions of Ukraine), and you may not use AirNomadNetwork if you’re on a US sanctions list. Hosts must have their home in the United States, unless we approve hosting somewhere else in writing; hosting elsewhere may need extra terms for that country.
- One account per person. Keep your password private; you’re responsible for what happens in your account.
- Nomads verify their ID before their first booking, and hosts before their connection can be booked.
6. Rules and enforcement
Nomads follow the Acceptable Use Policy; hosts follow the Host Agreement. To keep the marketplace safe, we may warn, suspend or close accounts, end bookings, and stop a host’s connection taking bookings. Where we act on an account, we tell you what was reported and you can give your side.
- Keep bookings on AirNomadNetwork. If you met a host or nomad through AirNomadNetwork, don’t arrange internet access with them outside AirNomadNetwork, or try to, until 12 months after your last booking together. That includes trying to find out who they are so you can contact them directly. Members don’t learn each other’s identities, and this keeps it that way for everyone.
- Don’t scrape or copy the service. Don’t use bots, scrapers or other automated tools to collect information from AirNomadNetwork, such as host listings, speeds or prices. Don’t reverse engineer or decompile our software or service, or try to get its code, except where the law allows it despite this term. Don’t use AirNomadNetwork, or anything you learn from it that isn’t public, to build or run a competing service.
7. Privacy
- We never record which sites anyone visits, for nomads or hosts.
- We keep your account details, booking records (who, which host, when, the port block) and how much data each booking used per minute, which is deleted after six months.
- Stripe handles ID checks and keeps the ID photos and selfie. We keep only whether you passed and a coded fingerprint that lets us recognize a closed account.
- Hosts never learn who nomads are. We share records only when the law requires it.
Full details are in our Privacy Policy.
8. Host software
We give hosts a personal, non-transferable, revocable license to install and run our software on their own router, only to host on AirNomadNetwork. It’s confidential and shared only with hosts: you may read it, but don’t copy, change, publish or share it, or use it for any other service. You can remove it at any time with our uninstaller. The license ends when you stop hosting or your account closes.
9. No guarantees
AirNomadNetwork is a pilot, provided “as is”. We don’t promise the service will always be available, uninterrupted or error-free, or that any host’s connection will be fast or reachable, to the extent the law allows.
10. Limits on our liability
To the extent the law allows, AirNomadNetwork isn’t liable for indirect or consequential losses, lost profits or data, actions by any internet provider, or a host’s or nomad’s conduct. Our total liability to you is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim, or $50 if that’s more.
11. Your responsibility
You’re responsible for how you use AirNomadNetwork. If you break these terms or the law, and that leads to a claim against AirNomadNetwork (for example, about traffic you sent, or about your agreement with your internet provider), you agree to cover our reasonable losses and costs from it.
12. Ending
You can stop using AirNomadNetwork at any time, and ask us to close your account. Hosts can remove our software with one command. We may suspend or close accounts that break these terms. Sections 7, 10 and 11 continue after your account closes.
13. Changes
If we change these terms, we’ll show you what changed and ask you to agree again before your next booking or before your hosting connection takes new bookings.
14. Questions and disputes
If something goes wrong, reply to your invite email and we’ll try to sort it out with you directly.
