Host Agreement
Nomads trust you with their internet connection, and you trust them with yours. These rules are what make that work.
Nomads’ privacy
- Don’t capture, inspect, record or log nomads’ traffic in any way. That includes packet captures, DNS or website logs, router traffic or parental-control reports, and any tool that intercepts or decrypts connections.
- Don’t block, slow down, alter or redirect nomads’ traffic.
- Don’t try to find out who a nomad is, or contact them outside AirNomadNetwork.
Your hosting connection
- Keep the AirNomadNetwork agent installed and running as provided. Don’t change it, and don’t turn off or work around the home network wall, the port blocks or the blocked ports it sets up.
- Install updates when we ask you to.
- You’re welcome to read the host software, but it’s confidential: don’t copy, change, publish or share it, or use it for any other service.
- Keep your home router’s software up to date, and don’t expose devices like cameras or remote access to the internet.
- Use Pause hosting on My Hosting Connection whenever you need your connection back. Nomads are disconnected within seconds.
Your internet connection
- We recommend telling your internet provider that you’re hosting (the host setup guide has a message you can send). Many home internet plans don’t allow sharing your connection outside your household, and if yours doesn’t, your provider could warn you or suspend your service. Whether to host is your decision, and that risk is yours.
- If your provider sends you an abuse notice, report it on My Hosting Connection as soon as you can, and within 30 days of receiving it, with the date, time and any port it lists, and paste the notice. Notices about spam, attacks or hacking, malware, or child sexual abuse material must be reported within 2 days. Report only real notices.
Your price and payouts
- You set your connection’s monthly price, within the range we publish (currently $39 to $69). We suggest a price, but the choice is yours, and a new price applies to new bookings.
- We collect payment from nomads as your limited agent, keep our service fee (currently 30%), and pay you the rest, normally monthly. During the pilot, bookings may be free, so there may be nothing to pay out yet.
- You’re responsible for any taxes on what you earn.
Founding hosts
- The first 100 hosts whose hosting connections come online are founding hosts. AirNomadNetwork’s own connections don’t count. Your profile shows a Founding host label for as long as you host.
- If your connection is online at least 90% of the time during its first 3 months, you earn an $80 credit toward your home server. Paused time counts as offline; time when AirNomadNetwork itself is down doesn’t count against you.
- The credit is added to your payouts from paid bookings. It isn’t paid out any other way, and it’s cancelled if your account is closed for breaking these rules before it’s paid. One credit per host.
Your account
- Verify your ID before nomads can book your connection. Nomads never learn who you are.
- One account per person. Don’t let anyone else use your account or run your hosting for you.
- Host nomads only through AirNomadNetwork. Don’t offer or sell access to your connection to a nomad you met here, outside AirNomadNetwork, until 12 months after their last booking with you.
What AirNomadNetwork does
- Verifies every nomad’s ID, and holds them to our Acceptable Use Policy.
- Walls nomads off from your home network and devices, and disconnects them all if that wall can’t be kept up.
- Never records which sites anyone visits.
- Matches abuse notices to the booking that caused them, acts on the nomad responsible, and tells you what we found.
If these rules are broken
We may stop your connection taking bookings and close your account. We’ll tell you what happened, and you can give your side.
Changes
When this agreement changes, we’ll show you what changed and ask you to agree again. Until you do, your connection won’t take new bookings.
